One of the best tips I’ve received is focusing on your skincare routine, so that your makeup simply enhances your natural beauty.
My Makeup Tutorial
FACE
First, I apply Glowish Blur Jam Silicone Free Smoothing Primer. This primer helps texture, pores, and uneven tone fade out of focus and boosts skin hydration. Next, I apply a full coverage pressed powder by bareMineral on top of my primer. I use the shade Medium 32 Cool. Due to having oily skin, my face looks greasy when I use liquid foundation and eventually breaks out. I also like powder because my freckles still stand out. My freckles are what makes me ME. I remember for my wedding makeup trial they airbrushed my face and my freckles were gone. It took me a little bit to figure out what was wrong with the original wedding look. Then it hit me, and I knew it was because I could not see my freckles. I voiced my concern and we went with a much lighter airbrush coverage.
I just recently started using the bronzer stick by Rare Beauty. I have to say I love it! It gives me the ability to apply the bronzer in the exact spots I want contoured. I use the shade Bright Side.
Sometimes I add the concealer before I apply my blush and sometimes I add it after I blend my cheeks. Either way I use Rare Beauty’s Concealer Shade120C. I dab each corner of my eye. I blend all my contouring with a beauty blender.
CHEEKS
I also use the beauty blender on my blush. I love this color from, again, Rare Beauty. Color is Hope and you only need two light taps on each cheek bone. Those two taps will go a long way on your face. I do not always add a highlighter to my cheeks but if I do it is Iconic London Illuminator, color Blush. It is beautiful. I highly recommend if you are having photos taken of you.
BROWS
Hand Down Gimme Brow+ Tinted Volumizing Eyebrow Gel. I do not need to say more, just trust. I use 6 Deep Warm Black-Brown. This is one thing in my makeup case that I use everyday even if I do not do the rest of my makeup. I do my morning skin care and color in my brows. I have naturally dark hair and my eyebrows didn’t seem to catch that gene.
EYES
Now eyes are not my specialty. I am very lucky to have blue eyes that pop because even with them I am not sure that I am really doing them justice with my eye makeup. I do use a brown eyeliner (color recommended for blue eyes). I use a waterproof eyeliner as well because when I use regular eyeliner I feel like I always get a shadow under my eye from it as the day goes on. Currently I’m using Urban Decay’s 24/7 Glide-On Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil, shade Demolition; which is a matte deep brown. You will notice I do not mention adding eyeshadow next. This is where I need work or more Youtube searches. I go right to Mascara. But before I put on the blackest color I can find, This eyelash primer is awesome! It’s L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Conditioning Mascara Primer. Buy it! My Mascara right now is a steal, only $4.99 at Target. It is good, however I am still looking for that ride or die mascara.
I will also link here my favorite fake eyelashes. I do wear these often because they enhance the eye so much! Another recommendation if you are getting photos taken of yourself.
What I do not have linked here is some E.L.F. creamy eye shadow that is really old but I just recently started using it in the inner corner of my eye. You can see this in my makeup tutorial video linked above or find it on the LTK app.
LIPS
For the finishing touch I use a lip liner by, once again, Rare Beauty, color Talented. I then put on a matte lip color by NARS. I use the shade Surrender, though next time I might find one with a little more pink in it. What you will not see in my tutorial is that from there I apply bareMineral’s lip gloss, shade Adventure and use this throughout the rest of the day.
